Prime Minister Boris Johnson was in Milton Keynes on Friday (4th September) to visit Lime who have recently launched their trial e-scooter scheme in the city.
The e-scooters, which are on a 12 month Department of Transport backed scheme in MK, can be hired for 20p-per-mile and used on Redways and roads, as well as being limited to 15mph an hour for safety reasons.
The PM was given a tour of their factory in Bradwell Abbey, shown how to do maintenance on some of the e-scooters and even jumped on one for a ride himself.
Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, commented: "It was fantastic to have the Prime Minister visit and get out on the e-scooters with him.
"MK is a world-leader in tech and future transport, I want us to be the next Silicon Valley and it was great to see how interested Boris was in the innovative businesses we have here."
