Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has welcomed the news two new lighter Post Office branches which launched in Milton Keynes as part of a trial earlier this week.
The new flexible range of formats hope to be able to adapt to the needs of their local customers and to increase customer access to essential services and simplify the customer experience - including reducing transaction times and offering different product mixes.
They have also been designed to make running a Post Office simpler and more rewarding for postmasters and partner operators, requiring less space and staffing.
The new branches launced at LK Off Licence in Conniburrow and Abraham Convenience Store on Upper Fifth Street in Central Milton Keynes on Monday.
They offer Post Office services from a handheld device, providing convenient access for customers to bill payments and parcel collections and returns.
The services they offer are:
- Mail Stamp books (1st class 6 & 12 only, 2nd class 12 only)
- Parcel collect and return
- Other Bill payments
- Mobile top-up service
- National Lottery
- Terminal Gift cards
