Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has welcomed the news 89% of over 50s in Milton Keynes have now received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
The positive news comes after a further 16,735 vaccine doses were administered across MK over the last week up until 6th June taking the total up to 251,292 and comes in the week when the vaccination programme was opened up to over 25s.
And the number of people who are protected against COVID-19 with at least one dose has now increased to 154,322 with 85% of adults in Milton Keynes now vaccinated, including 97% of over 40s.
Ben Everitt MP commented: "This is fantastic news as the vaccination programme continues at a great pace and we look towards the next step of the roadmap no earlier than 21st June.
"We know we have seen cases rise across the country in recent weeks due to the Delta variant so it's vital you turn up to get your first jab and your second jab. Vaccinations are our route back to normal."
